Elijah’s Altar Door Hanger

This fun door hanger goes with the story of Elijah and the Prophets of Baal found in 1 Kings 18 where God proved that He is the one true God.

  • Print the door hanger (below) onto white cardstock paper then cut it out along the outer edge and the dotted lines
  • Tear  brown construction into 1″ x 6″ strips
  • Cut orange and yellow tissue paper  into 2″ squares, about 4 to 5 of each
  • Print or write the Bible/lesson point onto a 1″ x 2-5/8″ address label (Avery 8160) or paper

  • Glue
  • Blue markers

  • Adhere the Bible point just under the circle opening of the the door hanger
  • Tear brown construction paper strips into smaller pieces then glue them near the bottom of the door hanger to create Elijah’s altar
  • Scrunch the orange and yellow tissue squares then create the fire by gluing them in a clump on top of the altar
  • Using a blue marker, draw dots all over the door hanger to represent rain

Print making sure the image takes up the entire sheet and doesn’t get scaled. Here are some properties you may see in the print dialog:

  • DO NOT “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”
  • Select “Fill Page”, “Actual Size”, or make sure Scale is set to 100%
  • “Borderless Printing” should be ON, or make sure there are no margins set
  • Select “Auto Portrait/Landscape” or make sure the image is not sideways on the page
